Cefuroxime + Clavulanic Acid

Cefuroxime is a classical 2nd generation cephalosporin that inhibits gram positive, gram negative bacteria and anaerobes equally and Clavulanic acid is a beta-lactamase enzyme inhibitor. Clavulanic acid destroys beta-lactamase enzyme by binding to this enzyme irreversibly. Cefuroxime inhibits transpeptidase enzyme in bacteria which causes cell wall to swell & rupture.
