Indications:
Acute herpetic keratitis (dendritic ulcers).

Mode of Action:
Ganciclovir is transformed to ganciclovir triphosphate by viral and cellular thymidine kinases. Which causes DNA chain termination and prevention of DNA replication as a result it inhibits the synthesis of viral DNA. Thus it shows the antiviral action.
