Indications:
Induction of labor, stimulation of labor in hypotonic uterine inertia, cesarean section, prevention & treatment of postpartum uterine atony, hemorrhage, adjunctive therapy for the management of incomplete, inevitable or missed abortion during early stages of pregnancy.

Mode of Action:
Stimulates contraction of uterine smooth muscle by increasing intracellular calcium concentrations, thus mimicking contractions of normal, spontaneous labor and transiently impeding uterine blood flow & leading to dilation of the cervix. It also stimulates smooth muscle to facilitate ejection of milk from breasts.
