Indications:
Noncirrhotic Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH), Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatohepatitis (MASH), Moderate to advanced liver fibrosis (consistent with stages F2 to F3 fibrosis), along with diet and exercise.

Mode of Action:
Resmetirom is a selective THR-beta agonist that targets thyroid hormone receptor-beta in the liver. By activating this receptor it increases the liver's fat-burning and lipid-clearing activity, which helps lowering triglycerides and LDL cholesterol within the liver. This reduction in liver fat helps slow or prevent the progression of NASH, decreasing inflammation, reducing fibrosis risk, and protecting the liver from long-term damage.
